Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven (December 16, 1770 to March 26, 1827) was one of the greatest composers and musical figures of all time. He was a revolutionary, a force of nature who wrested music out of the relative gentility of the Classical period and brought it fully into the more personal and even political expression of the Romantic era.

For its 2019-20 season, the ISC is celebrating the mighty Ludwig’s 250th birthday with programming featuring many of his greatest chamber works performed with passion and world class quality by the best of Calgary’s professional musicians.
