ISC Outreach is dedicated to bringing chamber music to those with less access to live music and to exploring the capacity of chamber music in education and health-care.
“Kalimba Duet” by Lynne Hunter-Johnston
The ISC brings the warmth of chamber music to health-care settings. We are happy to launch ‘Art & Music Friends, pairing musicians and visual artists to provide interactive programming at the Alberta Children’s Hospital Mental Health Patient Care Unit. This program aims to engage at-risk youth through creative expression. The ISC gratefully acknowledges the Rozsa Foundation for its generous support of this initiative. A huge welcome to Scott Carey as our program coordinator, and special thanks to our host at ACH, Alyson Dutchak (Childlife Specialist) and to the ACH volunteer staff.
Please enjoy these short videos with contributions by members of HEAR Music Alberta, a consortium dedicated to furthering music in medicine, and an instructional video from our “Art&Music Friends” program aimed to inspire creativity for all.
It was so delightful getting to collaborate on this project with the Instrumental Society of Calgary’s Art & Music Friends Toolkit Series. We created this educational video to show how explorations of art and music can happen at the same time. We are excited to share this fun process with anyone who can reimagine how to make music and art. We hope you enjoy this video.
